Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with your commandments and commanded us to count the omer.
Recite the day of the count:
היום תשעה ושלשים יום שהם חמשה שבועות וארבעה ימים לעמר
Hayom tishah u-shloshim yom, sh'hem chamishah shavuot v'arba'ah yamim la'omer.
Today is the thirty-ninth day, making five weeks and four days of the Omer.
67: (NKJV)
God be merciful to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us. Selah. That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations. Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously, And govern the nations on earth. Selah Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, And all the ends of the earth shall fear Him.
Psalm 98:
Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. The Lord has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations. He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises. Sing to the Lord with the harp, With the harp and the sound of a psalm, With trumpets and the sound of a horn; Shout joyfully before the Lord, the King. Let the sea roar, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell in it; Let the rivers clap their hands; Let the hills be joyful together before the Lord, For He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He shall judge the world, And the peoples with equity.
Prayer for day 39:
Heavenly Father, we humbly ask that You preserve and protect Your people who are called by your holy Name. Forgive us, shine your face on us and heal our land that has been defiled by the shedding of innocent blood. Sovereign of the universe, You have commanded us through Moses Your servant to count the days of the omer, in order to purify and cleanse us. Therefore, may it be Your will, Lord our God and God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that in the counting of the omer which I (we) have counted today, I (we) may be purified and sanctified. And through my (our) obedience to your commandments, may Your abundant bounty be granted all the world. May it rectify our soul and our spirit from every impurity and evil intent, and may it purify and sanctify us with all your holiness.
Abba, father, on this, the thirty-ninth day of the counting of the omer, we remember how after you provided life-giving water from the rock at Horeb to the Israelites, the Amalekites attacked them at Rephidim to destroy them and we remember how you gave them supernatural courage and strength to fight off the attack. We humbly ask that You in the same way, provide us with your Holy Spirit and with the strength and courage we need to fight the forces of darkness today in our time. Amen.
After the reciting the prayer, continue to pray and meditate on how when the Amalekites attacked the Israelites God gave supernatural abilities ensuring their victory and how 1500 years later the eleven disciples set out for the Mount of Olives as Yeshua had directed them where he would give them His final instructions.
