Counting the Omer 2021 - Day Fourteen

Day Fourteen

Begin by reciting the blessing:

ברוך אתה יהוה אלוהינו , מלך העולם , אשר קדשנו במצותי
וציונו עלי לספירת העומר
Barukh ata Adonai Eloheinu Melekh ha'Olam asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav
v'tizivanu al sefirat ha'omer.
Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with your commandments and commanded us to count the omer.
Recite the day of the count:
היום ארבעה-עשר יום שהם שני שבועות לעמר
Hayom arba'ah-asar yom, sh'hem shnei shavuot la'omer.
Today is the fourteenth day, making two weeks of the Omer.

Psalm 67: 4-7 (NKJV 49 word Paraphrase)
Let the peoples praise You, God; For You shall judge the people righteously, And govern all the nations on earth. Let everyone praise You, God; Let all people praise You.  Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, shall bless us, And all the earth shall fear Him.

Psalm 119: 105-112   נ           Nun
Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. I have sworn and confirmed That I will keep Your righteous judgments. I am afflicted very much; Revive me, O Lord, according to Your word. Accept, I pray, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, And teach me Your judgments. My life is continually in my hand, Yet I do not forget Your law. The wicked have laid a snare for me, Yet I have not strayed from Your precepts. Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever, For they are the rejoicing of my heart. I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes Forever, to the very end.

Prayer for Day 14:
Our Father, we implore You, by the awesome power of Your right hand, accept the prayers of your people; strengthen and purify us, Awesome and Mighty King of the Universe, we beseech you, that You guard as the apple of Your eye Your people Israel.  Bless them, cleanse them; bestow upon them forever Your merciful righteousness. Powerful, Holy One, we humbly ask that You preserve and protect Your people who are called by your holy Name. Strengthen us! Give us courage to stand against the evil powers of this world and the forces of darkness. Heal our land that has been defiled by the shedding of innocent blood and help our nation to turn back to you. Accept our supplication and hear our cry,  יְהוָ֖ה  Yehovah, You who knows the secret thoughts. Blessed be the name of the glory of His kingdom forever and ever.
Almighty Sovereign of the universe, You have commanded us through Moses Your servant to count the days of the omer, in order to purify us from all our defects and defilement. Therefore, may it be Your will, Lord our God and God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that in the counting of the omer which I (we) have counted today, I (we) may be purified and sanctified. And through my (our) obedience to your commandments, may Your abundant bounty be bestowed upon all the world. May it rectify our soul and our spirit from every failure and blemish, and may it purify and sanctify us with all your holiness.
Abba, father, on this, the fourteenth day of the counting of the omer, we remember your bountiful kindnesses to your children after you delivered them from their enslavement in Egypt, how you brought them safely to the peaceful oasis at Elim. And we remember how nearly 1500 years later, you raised your blessed son, our savior, Yeshua Ha Mashiach, from the ravages of death and how He being the firstborn from the dead and given a glorified body, comforted your servants, the apostles and over 500 of their brethren, in order that they might partake in the joy of His victory over the grave and how He began to prepare them to declare the Good News of His great love and redeeming work for all Mankind and to all the World. We humbly ask that You refine us and in every way make us worthy to continue this great work today in our time. Amen.
After reciting the prayer, continue to pray that we may enter God's Sabbath rest just as the Israelites enjoyed their rest at the oasis of Elim. And pray that Yeshua will reveal Himself to you just as He did with His disciples as they waited in Jerusalem for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that was soon to come.

The Sefirot for Day fourteen is: Malchut of Gevurah: Nobility of Discipline. When we exercise discipline we show nobility in behavior and we allow ourselves to be better used by God in the kingly roles He intended for us. Suggested activity for today: Think of something significant you have wanted to do that demonstrates your love and commitment to the Lord and do it today.
