Day Fifteen
6th of Iyyar 5781 – from sundown on April 17th to sundown on April 18th, 2021
Begin by reciting the blessing:
ברוך אתה יהוה אלוהינו , מלך העולם , אשר קדשנו במצותי
וציונו עלי לספירת העומר
Barukh ata Adonai Eloheinu Melekh ha'Olam asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav
v'tizivanu al sefirat ha'omer.
v'tizivanu al sefirat ha'omer.
Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with your commandments and commanded us to count the omer.
Recite the day of the count:
היום חמשה-עשר יום שהם שני שבועות ויום אחד לעמר
Hayom chamishah-asar yom, sh'hem shnei shavuot v'yom echad la'omer.
Today is the fifteenth day, making two weeks and one day of the Omer.
Psalm 67: (Jubilee Bible 2000)
God be merciful unto us and bless us and cause his face to shine upon us. Selah.
That thy way may be known upon the earth, thy saving health among all the Gentiles. Let the peoples praise thee, O God; let all the peoples praise thee. O let the Gentiles be glad and sing for joy, for thou shalt judge the people righteously and shepherd the Gentiles upon the earth.
Selah.
Let the peoples praise thee, O God; let all the peoples praise thee. Then shall the earth bring forth her fruit, and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear him.
Psalm 119: 113-120: (NKJV) ס Samech
I hate the double-minded, But I love Your law. You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word. Depart from me, you evildoers, For I will keep the commandments of my God! Uphold me according to Your word, that I may live; And do not let me be ashamed of my hope. Hold me up, and I shall be safe, And I shall observe Your statutes continually. You reject all those who stray from Your statutes, For their deceit is falsehood. You put away all the wicked of the earth like dross; Therefore I love Your testimonies. My flesh trembles for fear of You, And I am afraid of Your judgments.
Prayer for day 15:
Our Father, we implore You, by the awesome power of Your right hand, release the captive. Accept the prayers of your people; strengthen and purify us, Awesome and Mighty King of the Universe, we beseech you, that You guard as the apple of Your eye Your people Israel. Bless them, cleanse them; bestow upon them forever Your merciful righteousness. Powerful, Holy One, in Your abounding goodness, we humbly ask that You preserve and protect Your people who are called by your holy Name. Strengthen us! Give us courage to stand against the evil powers of this world and the forces of darkness. Heal our land that has been defiled by the shedding of innocent blood and help our nation to turn back to you. Accept our supplication and hear our cry, You who knows the secret thoughts. Blessed be the name of the glory of His kingdom forever and ever.
Sovereign of the universe, You have commanded us through Moses Your servant to count the days of the omer, in order to purify us from all our defects and defilement. Therefore, may it be Your will, Lord our God and God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that in the counting of the omer which I (we) have counted today, I (we) may be purified and sanctified. And through my (our) obedience to your commandments, may Your abundant bounty be bestowed upon all the world. May it rectify our soul and our spirit from every failure and blemish, and may it purify and sanctify us with all your holiness.
Abba, father, on this, the fifteenth day of the counting of the omer, we remember your bountiful kindnesses to your children, how You brought them to a place of rest at Elim. And we remember how nearly 1500 years later, you raised your blessed son, our savior, Yeshua Ha Mashiach, from the ravages of death and how He met with the apostles by the Sea of Tiberius, and performed the miracle of the catch of one hundred and fifty-three fish. And we exult in joy at His victory over the grave as we seek to declare the Good News of His great love and redeeming work for all Mankind. We humbly ask that just as you delivered the children of Israel from bondage in Egypt, that You deliver us from our bondage to the world and refine us and in every way make us worthy to continue to proclaim Your Kingdom today in our time. Amen.
After the reciting the prayer, continue to pray and meditate on the mystery of the catch of the 153 fish. And pray that Yeshua will restore each of us as He did Simon Peter so that we may be able to realize our full potential and God's amazing plan for our lives.
