Day Ten
1st of Iyyar 5781 – from sundown on April 12th to sundown on April 13th, 2021
Begin by reciting the blessing:
ברוך אתה יהוה אלוהינו , מלך העולם , אשר קדשנו במצותי
וציונו עלי לספירת העומר
Barukh ata Adonai Eloheinu Melekh ha'Olam asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav
v'tizivanu al sefirat ha'omer.
v'tizivanu al sefirat ha'omer.
Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with your commandments and commanded us to count the omer.
Recite the day of the count:
היום עשרה ימים שהם שבוע אחד ושלשה ימים לעמר
Hayom asarah yamim, sh'hem shavua echad u'sheloshah yamim la'omer.
Today is ten days, making one week and three days of the Omer.
Psalm 67: (Hebrew Names Version)
May God be merciful to us, bless us, And cause his face to shine on us. Selah.
That your way may be known on eretz, And your yeshu`ah among all nations,
Let the peoples praise you, God. Let all the peoples praise you. Oh let the nations be glad and sing for joy, For you will judge the peoples with equity, And govern the nations on eretz. Selah.
Let the peoples praise you, God. Let all the peoples praise you. The eretz has yielded its increase. God, even our own God, will bless us. God will bless us. All the ends of the eretz shall fear him.
Psalm 119: 73-80: (NKJV) י Yod
Your hands have made me and fashioned me; Give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments. Those who fear You will be glad when they see me, Because I have hoped in Your word. I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right, And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me. Let, I pray, Your merciful kindness be for my comfort, According to Your word to Your servant. Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; For Your law is my delight. Let the proud be ashamed, For they treated me wrongfully with falsehood; But I will meditate on Your precepts. Let those who fear You turn to me, Those who know Your testimonies. Let my heart be blameless regarding Your statutes, That I may not be ashamed.
Prayer for Day 10:
Our Father, we implore You, by the awesome power of Your right hand, release the captive. Accept the prayers of your people; strengthen and purify us, Awesome and Mighty King of the Universe, we beseech you, that You guard as the apple of your eye your people Israel. Bless them, cleanse them; bestow upon them forever Your merciful righteousness. Powerful, Holy One, in Your abounding goodness, preserve and protect Your people who are mindful of Your holiness. Strengthen us so that we are able to stand up for righteousness sake. And heal our land from the defilement caused by the shedding of innocent blood. Accept our supplication and hear our cry, יְהוָ֖ה Yehovah, You who knows the secret thoughts. Blessed be the name of the glory of His kingdom forever and ever.
Almighty Sovereign of the universe, You have commanded us through Moses Your servant to count the days of the omer, in order to purify us from our evil and uncleanness so that the souls of your people may be cleansed from their defilement. Therefore, may it be Your will, Lord our God and God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that in the counting of the omer which I (we) have counted today, I (we) may be purified and sanctified with your unimaginable holiness. And through my (our) obedience to your commandments, may Your abundant bounty be bestowed upon all the world. May it rectify our soul and our spirit from every baseness and defect, and may it purify and sanctify us with all your holiness.
Abba, father, on this, the tenth day of the counting of the omer, I (we) remember your bountiful kindness how after you delivered your children from bondage in Egypt they continued to enjoy a place of fountains and palm trees where they lacked nothing. I (We) humbly ask that You reveal to us the beauty of your creation and perfect Your beauty in us. Amen.
After reciting the prayer, continue to pray and meditate on how on the tenth day of their journey to Mt. Sinai, the Israelites began to become comfortable while resting at Elim. And how, Yeshua at some point appeared to over 500 of His followers so that they would know the truth and so that the message of the gospel would begin to go forth confirming fulfillment of the prophecies about Him.
